Summer 2019 Inspiration
With 2018 now behind us, we’re instantly wanting to know what's on trend for 2019? With so many options available at a touch of a button, we are here to lend some simple solutions to this year's Summer and beyond from trending colours, furniture and styles from our shop to your home.
Colour is making its presents proudly known in all areas of the interior spectrum with brave, visual contrasting colours, punchy intensity, creating a mood of calmness and positivity. We have seen, deep sultry forest and olive greens, to blues hinting to nature and rust to deep red/plums to initiate warmth and intimacy. Think bold in every sense of the word, from your living room to bedroom and in between! One to two colours are enough to be displayed together to really make an impact without redecorating your entire home. To calm these colours, complement these with grounding whites, soft, warm greys or pale pinks to apricots, in cushions, rugs and accessories. Add geometric and/or florals in prints and patterns to the mix. Layered colours and patterns always draws the eye in whatever interior setting you have created.

If you want to attract a moody effect, with a timeless feel, black accents can change the whole look, adding sophistication. Black is really making itself known, but don't go overboard. This colour can be added to your sofa legs, stained timber sofa arms or cabinetry. Personalisation is the key for this year. It's all about the unexpected colours that can be presented with interesting results.
The hype is also about the visual mix of surfaces. Layering textured finishes such as timber, leather, stone, velvet or whatever takes your eye will work. A few unique examples of this is our solid timber and stone dining tables. Timber adds warmth and brings the nature in, whereas stone creates opulence and luxury. Our dining tables can be complemented by commercially made Mesh, Tribeca or Harlem dining chairs, to name a few. The Mesh dining chair a referenced to on-trend wicker or our Tribeca dining chair a unique mix of upholstery PU and fabric not usually offered anywhere else. Whereas our Harlem dining chair, a vintage leather look with splayed legs can complement and infuse that modern feel. Whatever your preference in materials remember, give a thought to the comfort and end use of the product.
Styles like Art deco, the 70's and mid-century is spirited in a lot of our upcoming looks and designs this year. Soft, luxurious fabrics like velvet, aniline leathers, weaved naturally inspired fabrics are rich to touch and feel with the bonus of durability. The choice of brass, mixed metals, round and square shapes are repetitive within the industry also. Some great examples are our Eskay and Mosman sofa's and our Timeout chair. These styles focus on minimalism and contour lines offering less fuss than previous trends. Another not so new trend, yet has gained a lot of momentum, is the modular lounge. Adaptable module seating with options on configuration and arm finishes are essential to our way of life. The ease from inside to out is in demand, creating that even flow from space to another all year round. Look to our Milano or Uptown modular that is fully bespoke or our Fields outdoor setting designed for alfresco living to poolside sun lounges. Open plan living invites us to make choices on where and how we interact with our families.
